Join the NADO Research Foundation for the second installment of our three-part webinar series September with the CEDS: Better Resilience through Better Planning.

Our "September with the CEDS" webinar series is focused on taking a deeper dive into EDA's new requirement to incorporate resilience into the update of your Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).At the NADO Research Foundation, we believe that better resilience begins with better planning - planning that is comprehensive, forward-thinking, and goal-oriented.

Our next installment will focus on developing a stronger analysis of regional strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The SWOT analysis is a key element to building economic resilience into your CEDS as it requires you to not only comprehensively examine your vulnerabilities but also identify emerging opportunities to strengthen your regional economy.

Dave Ives, Sustainability / Planning Coordinator with the U.S. Economic Development Administration will provide insight into the updated guidelines and frame our discussion on the importance of the SWOT analysis to the overall CEDS planning process.

Brian Kelsey, NADO's Economic Development Consultant and the Principal/Founder of Civic Analytics will provide a brief, but intensive training on how to develop an effective SWOT analysis.

Jennifer Pellechio, Deputy Director with Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council (Fort Myers, FL) will share how SWFRPC's CEDS Strategy Committee

used their SWOT analysis to craft resilience goals that they are currently incorporating into their updated CEDS.
